About the Project

 - Nonnative speakers occasionally avoid speaking in a foreign language. Compared with other skills (Listening, reading and writing), speaking is generally the least favourite of students. Our project aims to encourage the pupils to speak in English fluently and in a confident way.

-Before starting our project, we decided to hold a questionnaire to compare the beginning and end of the project. (There will be another questionnaire while we are ending the work. Then, we will have the chance to compare the results.)

This is our pre-questionnaire related with our project "Speak English like a Brit". There are 5 questions and 43 participants (students and their parents) voted. We are really happy as our students' parents contributed to our project.

As you can see from the results, this is their first time in an eTwinning project for most of the participants. While just a few of the attendants have advanced level of English, the rest of them have intermediate or upper intermediate level. In general, they think this will be a useful project and they will speak English more fluently after the project.

Here are the questions and the results:

As we are finishing the project, we made a post questionnaire for our pupils. 36 pupils answered. The questions are related with our pre questionnaire. Therefore, it is easy to compare the results.

69.4 % wants to participate in another eTwinning roject after this one, 30.4 % says "Maybe". In the pre questionnaire while 51.2 % had beginner, 41.9 % intermediate - upper intermediate and 7 % advanced level English, in the end 97.2 % of pupils say they have intermediate - upper intermediate level of English. This is huge! Thrid question analyzed the difficulty in speaking English. While nearly half of them said "Yes" in the beginning, 91.7 % of them said they have less difficulty in speaking English - that was one of the main objectives of our project! 88.9 % thinks the project was useful, 11.1 % said "Maybe". Finally, 72.2 % said they can speak English more fluently when just 25 % said "Maybe" and about 2% said "No".

As you can clearly see the comparison between pre and post questionnaire results, our project improved our pupils English, speaking skills and confidence.

We also wanted to prepare a post questionnaire for students' parents. According to its results 100% of students talked about the project at home. This means our project was heard by all families. While 83.3 % thinks it was useful, 16.7  % says maybe. 80.6 % says they allow their student to particiate in another eTwinning project. It is a huge percentage. We are happy to create such an opinion among students' parents.
